Cutter's Must
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns do not include seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 0.7 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- From main fabric:
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Back — 1 piece on fold
- Bottom — 1 piece on fold
- Cuff — 2 pieces
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch shoulder seams and upper sleeve seams. Finish allowances and press towards the back. Stitch side seams and lower sleeve seams. Finish allowances and press towards the back.
- Cut a neckline facing 6 cm wide, length is indicated on the front pattern piece. Stitch the facing into a ring. Turn the facing right side out, fold in half right side out and press. Stitch the elastic into a ring. Insert the elastic into the facing and secure with a temporary stitch along the lower edge of the elastic, leaving seam allowances. Attach the facing to the neckline, slightly stretching the facing. The seam is located at the level of the left shoulder seam. Remove the temporary stitch.
- Stitch the cuff into a ring. Along the bottom of the sleeve, make a gathering stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and attach to the sleeve. Finish the allowance.
- Stitch the bottom into a ring. Fold the bottom in half lengthwise and attach to the bottom of the blouse, slightly stretching the lower edge. The seam is located at the level of the left side seam. Finish the allowance.
- Form a bow from the decorative cord and hand-stitch it to the neckline at the level of the shoulder seams. Attach cord ends to the cords.
