Sewing Instructions
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
- Fuse interfacing to the back and front plackets.
- Fold the strap lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch the long edge. Turn right side out, positioning the seam at the fold, and press. Topstitch at 0.2 cm.
- Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge.
- Attach the interfaced back placket to the back, press allowances towards the placket.
- Attach back trim_1 to the lower back, press allowances upwards and serge. Attach back trim_2 to back trim_1, press allowances upwards and serge. Attach back trim_3 to back trim_2, press allowances upwards and serge. Create and secure inverted pleats on the panels.
- Stitch the upper and lower back pieces, press allowances upwards and serge. Serge the center back seam. Stitch the center back seam from the mark downwards, press allowances open. Insert the zipper.
- Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and serge.
- Attach the interfaced front placket to the front, press allowances towards the placket.
- Attach front trim_1 to the lower front, press allowances upwards and serge. Attach front trim_2 to front trim_1, press allowances upwards and serge. Attach front trim_3 to front trim_2, press allowances upwards and serge. Create and secure inverted pleats on the.
- Stitch the upper and lower front pieces, press allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
- Stitch the side seams of the non-interfaced back and front placket pieces, serge the lower edge. Align the plackets with the garment and stitch the upper edge, inserting the straps at the front. Clip allowances, turn the placket to the wrong side, and press. Turn the center edges inwards and secure to the zipper tape. Topstitch the placket along the attachment seam.
- Put on the sundress, adjust the strap length, serge the lower edges and secure them to the back placket above the princess seams. Serge the garment hem, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
