Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: Medium-stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance for the garment and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm, along the back neckline of the front piece – 1.5 cm, along the open edge of the flying part of the front piece – 1.5 cm. Other seams 0.7 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Markings on the patterns are on the right side!

  • From knit fabric:
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Upper right front piece – 1 piece
    • Upper left front piece – 1 piece
    • Lower front piece – 1 piece
    • Side front piece – 2 pieces
    • Flying front piece – 1 piece
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.

  1. Stitch the center back seam. Overcast the allowance and press it to the left side.
  2. Stitch the dart on the upper left front piece with a straight stitch machine. Press the dart.
  3. Along the edge between marks “o” on the upper right front piece, make a row of stitches with loosely tightened stitches and gather. Stitch the upper front pieces. Overcast the seam and press it upwards.
  4. Overcast, fold, and topstitch the allowances along the open edge of the flying part. Along the edge between marks “o” on the flying part of the front piece, make a row of stitches with loosely tightened stitches and gather. Secure the flying part of the front piece to the lower part along the upper edge and along the relief seam section. Stitch the upper front piece to the lower, press and overcast the allowances.
  5. Attach the side front piece. Overcast and press the seams.
  6. Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Overcast the seams and press them towards the back.
  7. Stitch the sleeve seam. Press the seam. Set the sleeve into the armhole, easing the sleeve cap and matching the marks. Press and overcast the allowances.
  8. Overcast the neckline edge, press it inwards, and topstitch.
  9. Overcast the bottom edge of the dress and sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press, and topstitch.
