- 2. Side back – 2 pieces

- 7. Lapel – 4 pieces
- 8. Collar stand – 2 pieces
- From main fabric:
- 1. Front insert – 2 pieces
- From lining fabric:
- 1. Center back – 2 pieces, cut according to main fabric pattern pieces
- 2. Side back – 2 pieces, cut according to main fabric pattern pieces
- 3. Side front lining – 2 pieces
- 4. Center front lining – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- 1. Front facing – 2 pieces
- 2. Lapel – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce pattern pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Stitch the back princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center. Stitch the center back seam, press seam allowances to the left.
- Attach the upper front to the side front, press seam allowances upwards and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam. Stitch the front princess seams, press seam allowances towards the center and topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Attach the front insert to the front, clipping the seam allowance at the corner. Press seam allowances towards the main piece.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder and side seams.
- Place lapel pieces right sides together and stitch the gorge and outer edge. Clip seam allowances, turn lapels right side out, shape and press. Place collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch the outer edge and side edges. Clip seam allowances, turn collar stand right side out, shape and press.
- Place lapels on the center front and topstitch to the neckline edge. Set the collar stand into the neckline.
- On the lining fabric pieces, stitch the seams, leaving an opening for turning in the left side seam. Attach the front facings to the lining.
- Place the front facing with lining on the right side of the garment, right side down, pin and stitch the front edge, front neckline, back neckline, and hem. Stitching is done from the front side. Topstitch the seam allowance of the front edge to the front facing. The stitching should be 0.2 cm from the seam. Turn the vest right side out. Stitch the armhole in 2 steps. Stitch the technical opening closed.
- On the right front, overlock buttonholes; on the left front, sew on buttons.
