FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: linen fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing, 1 button.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 2 pieces
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Back neckline facing – 4 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Serge the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the slit mark to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Stitch along the slit 0.2 cm from the edge.
  3. Along the front neckline between the marks, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the neckline facing to the front. Press seam allowances towards the facing.
  4. Attach the back facing to the back neckline. Clip seam allowances and press towards the facing.
  5. Stitch shoulder seams. Press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  6. Cut (if not ready-made) bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 5 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip seam allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
  7. Stitch side seams, press seam allowances towards the back and serge.
  8. Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 10 cm long for a rouleau loop. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right side in, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Adjust the loop length.
  9. Stitch shoulder seams of facings. Press seam allowances open. Serge the outer edge.
  10. Place the inner facing on the front, stitch the neckline and center back edges, inserting the rouleau loop. Clip seam allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Topstitch the inner facing into the seam of the upper facing.
  11. Serge the bottom hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  12. Sew the button onto the back facing.
