Introducing a women's sewing pattern for a contemporary short sleeve top, distinguished by its unique asymmetrical wrap front and flattering draped silhouette.
This stylish top is designed for comfort and chic appeal, making it an excellent choice for:
Silhouette: Fitted through the bodice, accentuating the waist, and finishing at hip length.
Neckline: a classic round neck for versatile styling.
Sleeves: Short, set-in sleeves provide comfort and ease of movement.
Front Detail: The defining feature is an elegant asymmetrical wrap-around panel that drapes across the front, creating a cinched waist effect and a stylish layered look. A subtle vertical seam on the upper bodice adds structure.
Hem: The back hem is straight, while the front hem is dynamically shaped by the asymmetrical wrap.
Intermediate. This pattern involves working with knit fabrics, precise panel assembly to create the unique wrap and drape, and careful neckline application.
This pattern is suitable for soft knit fabrics with a medium degree of stretch, made from natural or blended fibers, such as:
No additional notions are required.
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: all seams - 1.0 cm; hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve - 2 cm; vertical seam allowance for the lower front – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match! Attention! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side!
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlock machine.
