CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance – 2.0 cm; other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Yoke – 1 piece on fold
- Front – 2 pieces
- Collar stand – 2 pieces
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Collar stand – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Form and secure the pleats on the front pieces. The pleat depths are directed away from the center. Place the front facing and front piece right sides together and stitch the edge of the front opening. Clip the allowances, turn the front facing to the wrong side, straighten, and press.
- Stitch the outer collar stand to the yoke neckline, clip the allowances, and press towards the stand. Press the lower edge allowance of the inner collar stand to the wrong side. Place the collar stand pieces right sides together and stitch the upper edge. Start and end the stitching precisely at the marked side edge line.
- Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front piece between the back and the inner collar stand. Press the allowances towards the back and serge. Turn the collar stand to the right side, topstitch the inner collar stand into the seam of the outer collar stand attachment.
- Attach the yoke to the back, press the allowances upwards and serge.
- Stitch the side seams, press the allowances towards the back and serge.
- Serge the sleeve edges separately. Stitch the sleeve seam from the armhole to the slit mark, press the allowances open. Topstitch the slit 0.1 cm from the fold. Set the sleeves into the armholes, press the allowances and serge.
- Fold the cuff pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the side edges. Start and end the stitching precisely at the marked cuff attachment seam line. Turn the piece to the right side, press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
- Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- On the right front, make buttonholes; on the left, sew on buttons. Make buttonholes and sew on buttons on the cuffs.
