Fabric recommendations: Dense blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. Thin denim fabrics. ALSO NEEDED: fusible interfacing; 11 snap fasteners.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Back yoke – 1 piece on fold
    • Upper sleeve part – 2 pieces
    • Lower sleeve part – 2 pieces
    • Collar stand – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Tie – 2 pieces
    • Placket – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Collar stand – 1 piece
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Placket – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Attach the yoke to the back, press seam allowances towards the yoke, serge. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm.
  3. Stitch the dart on the front. Press the dart depth upwards.
  4. Attach the outer side of the placket to the front, press seam allowance towards the placket. Fold the seam allowance of the inner side of the placket inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam. Topstitch along the placket at 0.5 cm from the edge and from the attachment seam.
  5. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press seam allowances towards the back, serge.
  6. Fold collar stand pieces right sides together, stitch the ends and the outer edge. Trim seam allowances at corners, turn the collar stand right side out, straighten and press. Attach the outer collar stand to the neckline, fold the open edge of the inner collar stand under and topstitch into the attachment seam. Topstitch along the contour of the collar stand at 0.5 cm.
  7. Along the upper and lower edges of the lower sleeve part, make gathering stitches with loosened upper thread and gather. Stitch the upper and lower sleeve parts. Serge and press seam allowances upwards. Topstitch along the seam at 0.5 cm. Serge sleeve edges separately on each piece. Stitch sleeve edges from the top to the slit mark. Press seam allowances open. Topstitch the slit at 0.1 cm from the edge.
  8. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch the side edges. Turn the piece right side out, press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the seam allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam of the outer cuff. Topstitch along the contour of the cuff at 0.5 cm.
  9. Fold the tie right sides together lengthwise in half and stitch along the long and shaped sides. Turn the tie right side out and press. Topstitch along the contour at 0.5 cm from the edge. Serge the short edge. Fold the serged edge to the wrong side and topstitch the tie to the collar stand with two parallel stitches at the shoulder seam.
  10. Serge the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  11. Attach snap fasteners to the front, collar stand, and cuffs.
