Fabric Recommendations

Achieve the best drape and structure with fabrics that offer a soft hand and moderate body:

  • Thin suiting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing
  • 1 button
  • Concealed zipper

Cutter's Must

If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, the patterns are without seam allowances. Seam allowances: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 2 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back yoke – 1 piece
    • Back – 2 pieces
    • Front – 2 pieces
    • Front yoke – 1 piece
    • Waistband – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Waistband – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch the center seam of the back, press seam allowances to the left side and serge.
  3. Along the upper edge of the back, stitch with a loosened thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the back, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Stitch a decorative-securing stitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  4. Stitch the center seam of the front, press seam allowances to the left side and serge.
  5. Along the upper edge of the front, stitch with a loosened thread and gather. Attach the yoke to the front, press seam allowances upwards and serge. Stitch a decorative-securing stitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
  6. Serge the left side edges separately. Stitch the left side seam from the notch for the zipper to the bottom. Press seam allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper. Stitch the right side seam, press seam allowances towards the back half and serge.
  7. Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short side and the extension. Start stitching strictly at the marked line for attaching the waistband to the skirt. At the mark, clip the seam allowances, turn the waistband right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the waistband to the upper edge, turn under the inner side and topstitch into the attachment seam.
  8. Serge the hem allowance, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  9. Make a buttonhole on the waistband. Sew on the button.
