Fabric recommendations: shirting fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, 5 buttons, elastic tape 3.5 cm wide.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the front bottom edge – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back — 1 piece on fold
- Right front – 1 piece
- Left front – 1 piece
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Side panel – 4 pieces
- Collar – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Collar – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH! Attention! Markings on patterns are made on the right side.
- Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing. Reinforce the integrated placket.
- Stitch darts on the back. Press dart allowances towards the center.
- Fold side panels in pairs right sides together, insert the front piece between them and stitch the shaped seam. Clip allowances, turn pieces right side out. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Stitch the dart on the front piece. Overlock the allowance and press upwards.
- Stitch shoulder seams. Overlock allowances and press towards the back. Attach sleeves. Press allowances towards the main piece, overlock.
- Fold the collar in half lengthwise right sides together and stitch the short sides. Trim allowances at corners, turn the collar right side out and press.
- Fold the allowance of the integrated placket to the wrong side and press. Insert the collar into the neckline, enclosing the collar with the integrated placket. Adjust pieces. Overlock the allowance. Topstitch along the placket to secure.
- Overlock the bottom allowances of the back and front. Fold the back bottom allowance inwards and topstitch. Stitch side seams simultaneously with sleeve seams, enclosing the back bottom edge with the front allowance. Overlock allowances and press towards the back. Topstitch along the front bottom edge to secure.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop. Press allowance open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and press. Insert elastic tape into the cuff, adjust length and secure it with vertical stitches according to markings.
- Attach the cuff to the sleeve. Overlock the allowance.
- On the right placket, make buttonholes, on the left placket, sew on buttons.
