Lace Yoke Blouse With Tie Front

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. Lace fabric in contrasting or complementary colors. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Neckline seam allowance for back and front – 0 cm. Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back – 1 piece on fold
  • Front – 1 piece on fold
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
• From main fabric 1:
  • Back Yoke – 1 piece on fold
  • Front Yoke – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse interfacing to the relevant pieces.
2. Stitch the back yoke to the back, press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
3. Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and with a length equal to the length of the center front edge of the front yoke + 4cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the center edge of the front yoke, right sides together, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam. Stitch the front yokes to the front, clipping into the corners, press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, press seam allowances towards the back, overcast.
5. Cut a bias binding for finishing the neckline and ties (approximate length is indicated on the front pattern piece). Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Unfold the piece, press the edges towards the fold, and press in half again. Bind the neckline edge, simultaneously finishing the ties.
6. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press seam allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Stitch the outer side of the cuff to the armhole, fold the seam allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
7. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
