Fabric & Materials

FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: Blouse fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

SEAM ALLOWANCES: All seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 1.5 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce pieces with fusible interfacing.
  2. Stitch shoulder and side seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  3. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings. Press allowances open. Serge outer edge. Place facing onto garment right side down and stitch neckline, clipping into corner. Clip allowances, turn facing to wrong side and press.
  4. Serge lower edge of sleeve. Press cuff to wrong side and press fold. Attach cuff to sleeve. Turn cuff to right side and press. Secure cuff with hand stitches to shoulder and side seams.
  5. Serge lower edge of garment, press to wrong side and topstitch.
