Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing; 4 buttons. IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance at the bottom edge of the garment – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).

CUTTER'S MUST

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

• From main fabric:
  • Back - 1 piece on fold
  • Front – 1 piece on fold
  • Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • Placket – 2 pieces
  • Back Yoke – 1 piece
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Cuff – 2 pieces
  • Placket — 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch the darts on the front pieces (if provided by size). Press the dart allowances upwards.
3. Fold the plackets in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the upper side. Trim the allowance, turn right side out, and press. Attach the plackets to the front along the long edge, stopping 1 cm from the bottom. Clip the front allowance at the corners, stopping 1 mm from the stitching line. Overlap the right placket over the left. Stitch the ends of the plackets, folding back the front and securing the bottom edge. Overlock the allowances.
4. Overlock the bottom edge of the back yoke. Place the back and yoke right sides together and stitch the neckline. Trim the allowances, clip at curves, turn the yoke to the wrong side, and press.
5. Attach the back and yoke to the front, inserting the front allowance between the yoke and the back. Topstitch the bottom edge of the yoke to the back from the right side.
6. Stitch the side seams. Overlock the allowances and press towards the back.
7. Make a slit on the sleeve along the marked line. Cut a bias binding from the main fabric 4 cm wide and a length equal to twice the slit length + 4 cm. Fold the binding in half lengthwise and press. Press the outer allowances towards the center. Finish the sleeve slit with bias binding. Create and secure the pleat on the sleeve. The depth is directed away from the closure.
8. Stitch the sleeve seam. Overlock the allowance and press towards the back. Set the sleeves into the armholes. Overlock the allowance and press.
9. Fold the cuff pieces in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the side edges. Start and end the stitching exactly at the marked cuff attachment seam line. Turn the piece right side out, press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the allowance of the inner side of the cuff inwards, and topstitch into the seam of the outer cuff attachment.
10. Overlock the bottom edge of the garment. Press the allowances to the wrong side and topstitch.
11. Make buttonholes on the cuffs. Sew buttons onto the cuffs.
