Introducing a women's sewing pattern for a chic knit top, distinguished by its elegant boat neckline and artfully draped bodice.
This versatile knit top is perfect for a range of occasions, offering comfort & style for:
Silhouette: a fitted, short-sleeve top designed to skim the body for a flattering profile.
Neckline: a classic boat neckline, offering a graceful and elegant line across the collarbone.
Draping: Features sophisticated, asymmetric draping across the left shoulder and front bodice, adding textural interest and a fluid aesthetic.
Sleeves: Short, set-in sleeves provide comfortable arm coverage.
Back: a clean, fitted back with a central seam ensures a tailored fit.
Hem: a straight hemline provides a neat finish, designed to be worn untucked or easily tucked.
Intermediate. Requires experience with knit fabrics, creating & securing draped details, and precise neckline finishing.
For optimal drape and comfort, select knit fabrics with moderate stretch:
If the patterns have a double contour, seam allowances are included. If the contour is single, seam allowances are not included. Seam allowances: Hem allowance for the garment bottom and sleeve hem – 2 cm, other allowances - 1.0 cm. Attention! First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) to determine how much material you will need. Attention! Markings on the patterns are made on the right side.
Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle or on a coverstitch machine to maintain elasticity. You can also stitch pieces directly on a 3- or 4-thread overlocker.
When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!
