A women's sleeveless denim pinafore dress with a separating zip down the centre front, princess seams front and back, side fronts pieced from four panels with angled seams, and pockets set into the lowest side front seam. Seams are topstitched 0.5 cm from the edge.

When To Wear

  • Over a T-shirt or blouse in summer.
  • Over a turtleneck or shirt with tights in spring and autumn.

Key Design Features

Neckline: Round scoop neckline front and back, finished with an interfaced facing cut in one with the armhole facing and topstitched.

Sleeves: Sleeveless, armholes faced and topstitched.

Closure: Separating zip set into the centre front seam from neckline to hem, topstitched 0.5 cm along both sides.

Front: Centre front pieces and side fronts made of an upper side front, side front 1, side front 2 and a lower side front, joined by angled seams that are topstitched.

Pockets: Pockets with lining-fabric bags; the topstitched opening runs along the upper edge of the lower side front.

Back: Centre back seam and two princess seams, all topstitched.

Finishing: Contrasting or matching thread is recommended for the topstitching; hem turned up and topstitched.

Denim of natural or blended fibres.

First, print out the paper patterns and lay them out on the fabric width (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) to determine how much material you will need (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
