FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: denim fabric made of natural or blended fibers. YOU ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for sleeve bottom - 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to consider paired and symmetrical parts). WHEN STITCHING PARTS, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- From main fabric:
- Center back part – 2 pieces
- Side back part – 2 pieces
- Center front part – 2 pieces
- Side front part – 2 pieces
- Collar – 2 pieces
- Sleeve – 2 pieces
- Front facing – 4 pieces
- Back facing – 2 pieces
- Pocket – 2 pieces
- FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Back facing – 1 piece
- Collar – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the allowances and press to the left side. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam. Stitch the back princess seams, overlock the allowances and press towards the center. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Press the top and side allowances of the faux pocket to the wrong side. Topstitch the pocket onto the front according to the markings.
- Stitch the front princess seams, overlock the allowances and press towards the center. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Stitch the side and shoulder seams of the bolero. Overlock the allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch the side seams of the facings. Press allowances open. Place facings right sides together and stitch the outer edge. Clip allowances, turn right side out and press. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam. Attach the outer facing to the front and back. Fold the allowance of the inner facing inwards and topstitch into the seam of the outer facing attachment. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Place collars right sides together and stitch along the ends and outer edge. Clip allowances at curves, trim corners. Turn collar right side out, shape, and press. Attach the upper collar to the neckline. Fold the allowance of the lower collar inwards and topstitch into the seam of the upper collar attachment. Topstitch 0.5 cm from the seam.
- Overlock the sleeve hem allowance, fold to the wrong side and topstitch. Along the upper part of the sleeve cap, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Set the sleeve into the armhole. Overlock the allowance and press.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the length of the lower armhole + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right sides together and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
