Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing. Also interface the seam allowances of the center edges of the front sleeve parts and the seam allowances of the center seam of the front piece in the area of the upper and lower slits.
- Stitch a gathering stitch along the upper edge of the back piece with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the back sleeve part to the back piece, press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
- Stitch a gathering stitch along the upper edges of the front pieces with loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the front sleeve parts to the front pieces, press seam allowances upwards and overcast.
- Cut a strip 2.5 cm wide at a 45-degree angle for the loop fasteners. Fold the strip in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim seam allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and straighten the rouleau. Cut into sections. Adjust the length of the loops. Stitch the loops onto the right front piece (folds facing away from the edge). Overcast the center edges of the front piece separately. Stitch the center edge of the front piece between the marks, press seam allowances open.
- Stitch the upper edge of the sleeve, press seam allowances and overcast. Stitch the lower edges of the sleeve (from the mark) and the side edges in one seam. Press seam allowances and overcast. Stitch a gathering stitch along the lower edge of the sleeve with loosened upper thread and gather.
- Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right sides together, and stitch the short sides. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve. Fold the seam allowance of the inner side inwards and topstitch into the attachment seam.
- Stitch the shoulder edges of the facings, press seam allowances open. Overcast the outer edge. Place the dress with the facing right sides together and stitch the neckline edge. Clip seam allowances at curves, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the facing to the shoulder seams. Topstitch the seam allowances of the upper and lower slits 0.5 cm from the edge.
- Overcast the lower edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overcast buttonholes on the cuffs, sew on buttons. Sew buttons on the front piece corresponding to the buttonholes. Tip: instead of self-made loop fasteners, you can use pre-made loop tape.
