Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers in two matching or contrasting colors. You will also need: fusible interfacing.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: Hem allowance – 2 cm, other seams – 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Back - 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front - 2 pieces
    • Lower front – 1 piece on fold
    • Neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From main fabric 1:
    • Cuff - 2 pieces
    • Sleeve insert – 2 pieces
    • Placket – 4 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Placket – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the sleeve insert to the shoulder seam of the front and back. Overcast seam allowances and press towards the insert.
  2. Overcast the outer edge of the facing. Place the facing on the neckline, right side down, and stitch the neckline. Clip the seam allowance, turn the facing to the wrong side, and press.
  3. Fold the plackets right sides together and stitch the outer and upper edges. Turn right side out and press.
  4. Place the placket on the front, wrong side to right side, and stitch. Overcast seam allowances and press. Place the right placket over the left and topstitch along the vertical section.
  5. Fold and secure the inverted pleat on the lower front. Stitch the upper and lower front pieces together. Overcast seam allowance and press downwards.
  6. Stitch the side seams simultaneously with the sleeve seam, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  7. Stitch the cuff into a loop. Press seam allowance open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise and press. Fold the cuff and the wrong side of the sleeve and stitch. Overcast the seam. Turn the cuff to the right side. Secure the cuff at the placket attachment seam.
  8. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
