Keyhole Neck Flutter Sleeve Blouse

Pattern #2293
Tech. Description

Fabric & Materials

Fabric recommendations: medium to high stretch knit fabric made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: knit fusible interfacing; 1 button. For finishing: LACE TRIM 1.5-2 cm wide is needed to cover seams. Also, SATIN BIAS BINDING is needed for the "BONING".

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance for the garment and sleeve hem – 1.5 cm, neckline allowance for the front – 0.5 cm; other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.

  • From main fabric:
    • Back – 1 piece on fold
    • Front – 1 piece on fold
    • Sleeve – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece

Tip: Knit fabric pieces are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  1. Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
  2. Stitch darts on the front. Press dart allowances upwards.
  3. Stitch side and shoulder seams, press allowances towards the back and serge.
  4. Cut a bias strip 3 cm wide and 7 cm long. Fold the strip in half lengthwise and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim allowances and turn the piece right side out. Adjust loop length.
  5. Stitch shoulder seams of neckline facings, press allowances open. Serge the outer edge. Place facing and garment right sides together, stitch the neckline edge and the decorative front cutout, inserting the hanging loop. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn right side out, straighten, press. Topstitch along the neckline 0.5 cm from the edge to secure.
  6. Stitch sleeve seam, press allowances towards the back and serge. Set sleeves into armholes, press allowances and serge.
  7. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and sleeve hems, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
  8. Sew the button to the front neckline.
