Tailored Peplum Blouse
Introducing a women's sewing pattern for a structured blouse featuring elegant puff sleeves with buttoned cuffs, a classic notched lapel collar, and a flared, pleated peplum-effect hem.
When To Wear
This versatile blouse is perfect for adding a touch of tailored sophistication to various occasions:
- Office & Professional Settings: Its structured design and polished silhouette make it ideal for business casual or smart workwear.
- Casual Chic Outings: Pair it with jeans or tailored trousers for an elevated everyday look suitable for brunches or social gatherings.
- Transitional Weather: a smart choice for spring and autumn, worn on its own or under a light jacket.
Key Design Features
Silhouette: a tailored silhouette, fitted through the bust and waist by shaped front panels, flaring below the waist into a pleated peplum effect at the hip.
Neckline & Collar: Features a classic V-neckline finished with notched lapels and a collar.
Closure: Single-breasted front closure with three buttons.
Sleeves: Three-quarter length sleeves with a distinct puffed shape, gathered at the cap and at the lower edge into fitted cuffs with a slit and a button.
Back: Defined by a back yoke and topstitched pleats in the main back panel, contributing to the garment's shaping.
Details: The front is cut in three parts (Center Front, Side Upper Front and Side Lower Front); pleats on the front and back panels shape the waist and create the flare of the hem.
Hem: a flared hemline finishing at hip length.
Level Of Difficulty
Intermediate. Requires confident handling of collar and lapel construction, working with fusible interfacing, forming precise pleats, and setting sleeves.
