Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing, invisible zipper.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance for the bottom edge of the garment – 2.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces). WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back part – 2 pieces
    • Back waistband – 2 pieces
    • Lower back part - 2 pieces
    • Lower front part – 2 pieces
    • Front waistband – 1 piece on fold
    • Upper front part – 1 piece on fold
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
  • From fusible interfacing:
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Back neckline facing – 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing. Also interface the slit area of the lower front part.
  2. On the upper back part, along the bottom edge, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather. Attach the back waistband to the upper back part, press seam allowances towards the waistband and overcast. Along the top edge of the lower back part, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather. Attach the lower back part to the waistband, overcast seam allowance and press towards the waistband.
  3. Overcast the center back edges separately. Stitch the center back seam from the top to the zipper mark. Press seam allowances open. Insert the invisible zipper.
  4. Overcast the center edges of the lower front part separately. Stitch the seam from the top to the slit mark. Press seam allowances open. Stitch a reinforcing line 0.2 cm along the slit.
  5. Along the bottom edge of the upper front part, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather. Attach the front waistband to the upper front part, press seam allowances towards the waistband and overcast. Along the top edge of the lower front part, stitch with a loosened top thread and gather. Attach the lower front part to the waistband, overcast seam allowance and press towards the waistband.
  6. Stitch the side and shoulder seams, simultaneously with the sleeve edge, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast.
  7. Stitch the shoulder seams of the neckline facings. Press seam allowances open. Overcast the outer edge of the facings. Place the facing onto the right side of the dress and stitch the neckline. Clip seam allowances, turn the facings to the wrong side and press. Secure the facings to the shoulder seams and the zipper tape.
  8. Stitch the cuff into a loop, press seam allowances open. Fold the cuff in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Attach the outer side of the cuff to the sleeve, fold the seam allowance of the inner cuff inwards and stitch into the seam of the upper cuff attachment.
  9. Overcast the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side by 2 cm and topstitch.
