CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Hem allowance – 3 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Side back piece – 2 pieces
- Center back piece – 2 pieces
- Center front piece – 2 pieces
- Side front piece – 2 pieces
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Cuff – 2 pieces
- Belt loop – 1 piece
- Belt – 1 piece
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back neckline facing – 1 piece
- Front facing – 2 pieces
- Belt – 1 piece
- Cuff – 2 pieces
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- On the back, stitch the princess seams. Overlock the allowances and press towards the center. Stitch the center back seam. Overlock the allowances and press to the left side.
- On the front, stitch the princess seams. Overlock the allowances and press towards the center.
- Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the jacket simultaneously with the sleeve seams. Overlock the allowances and press towards the back.
- Stitch and press open the shoulder seams of the back neckline facing and front facing. Overlock the outer edge.
- Place the front facing on the right side of the front piece, right side down, pin and stitch along the front edge, lapel, back neckline, and hem. Clip the allowances, trim corners. Turn the front facing and facing to the wrong side and press. Attach the facing to the shoulder seams.
- Stitch the cuff into a loop, press the allowance open. Fold the top and cuff right sides together and stitch the cuff. Fold the cuff to the wrong side and press. Fold under the inner edge and topstitch onto the sleeve. Turn the sleeve hem to the right side, straightening the cuff.
- Overlock the jacket hem allowance, fold to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Overlock one long edge of the belt loop. Fold the belt loop into three layers and topstitch along the long sides. Cut the belt loop into 4 pieces. Topstitch the belt loops onto the princess seams at waist level.
- On the right front piece, overlock the buttonholes, and on the left front piece, sew on the buttons.
- Fold the belt lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch, leaving an opening on the long side for turning. Turn the belt right side out, straighten and press. Close the opening.
