Fabric recommendations: dress fabrics made of natural or blended fibers with elastane. ALSO NEEDED: concealed zipper; fusible interfacing; 1 button.

CUTTER'S MUST

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THE PATTERNS INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm. Seam allowance for the middle and lower edges of the peplums – 1.2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (do not forget to account for paired and symmetrical details). ATTENTION! MARKINGS ON THE PATTERNS ARE MADE ON THE RIGHT SIDE.

  • Upper back part – 2 pieces
  • Back waistband – 2 pieces
  • Back peplum – 2 pieces
  • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
  • Side front part – 2 pieces
  • Center front part – 1 piece
  • Right front part – 1 piece
  • Left front neckline facing - 1 piece
  • Right front neckline facing – 1 piece
  • Front waistband – 1 piece
  • Front peplum – 2 pieces
• From fusible interfacing:
  • Back neckline facing - 2 pieces
  • Left front neckline facing - 1 piece
  • Right front neckline facing - 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

1. Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
2. Stitch darts on the upper back pieces, press seam allowances towards the center of the pieces. Attach the back waistband to the upper back part. Overlock the seam allowance and press upwards.
3. Attach the back peplums to the back waistband, press seam allowances towards the waistband and overlock.
4. Overlock the center back edge separately on each piece. Stitch the center back edge from the zipper mark to the bottom, press seam allowances open. Insert the zipper.
5. Attach the right front part to the center front part. Overlock seam allowances and press open.
6. Stitch the contoured edge of the upper front part, press seam allowances towards the center, overlock. Attach the front waistband to the upper front part, press seam allowances upwards and overlock.
7. Overlock the middle edges of the front peplums. Fold seam allowances inwards and topstitch. Overlap the right peplum onto the left and secure along the upper edge. Attach the front peplums to the front waistband, press seam allowances upwards and overlock.
8. Stitch shoulder edges, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
9. Stitch the edges of the neckline facings, press seam allowances open. Overlock the outer edge. Place the facing with the garment right sides together and stitch the contoured neckline edge. Clip seam allowances, on the one-piece placket section, trim seam allowances to 0.5 cm. Turn the facing to the wrong side, straighten the one-piece placket, press. Secure the facing to the main garment at the shoulder seams and center back edge.
10. Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 6 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge right side up, extending the tails, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seams and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
11. Stitch side edges, press seam allowances towards the back and overlock.
12. Overlock the lower edge of the peplums, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
13. Overlock the buttonhole and sew on the button. You can also sew the button straight through, without overlocking a buttonhole.
