Sewing Instructions
- Fuse interfacing to the designated pieces.
- Stitch the back princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overlock.
- Attach the back peplum to the back. Overlock the allowance and press upwards.
- Overlock the center back edges separately on each piece. Stitch the center back seam from the zipper notch to the hem, press allowances open. Insert the concealed zipper.
- Stitch the darts on the front piece, press depths upwards. Stitch the front princess seams, press allowances towards the center and overlock. Attach the front peplum to the front. Overlock the allowance and press upwards.
- Cut the front between the marked lines. Overlock the lower edge of the front facing. Place the front facing on the upper of the front, right sides together, and stitch the neckline. Clip allowances, turn the facing to the wrong side and press. Fold the front insert in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Insert the front insert into the slit and stitch. Trim the insert allowances, aligning with the front allowances, gradually tapering. Overlock the allowances and press towards the side seam.
- Overlock the outer edge of the back facing. Attach the back facing to the back, ending the stitching strictly at the beginning of the shoulder seam. Clip allowances, turn the facing and press. Stitch the shoulder seams, inserting the front between the back and the facing. Press allowances towards the back and overlock. Secure the facing to the zipper tape.
- Cut (if not ready-made) a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise, right side out, and press. Place the binding with the armhole edge, right sides together, and stitch. Clip allowances. Fold the binding to the wrong side and topstitch along the fold to the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch the side seams, press allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Overlock the hem allowance, press to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
