Fabric Recommendations

Choose fabrics with good drape and a comfortable feel:

  • Woven dress fabrics with elastane (e.g., crepe, gabardine, cotton sateen)
  • Stable knit fabrics with low stretch (e.g., ponte roma, interlock, heavy jersey)

Additional Supplies

  • Fusible interfacing

Cutter's Must

When stitching pieces, pay attention to the notches - they must match!

  • From main fabric:
    • Upper back - 1 piece on fold
    • Lower back - 2 pieces
    • Upper front - 1 piece on fold
    • Lower front - 2 pieces
    • Cuff – 2 pieces
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Belt – 1 piece
  • From fusible interlining:
    • Back neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Front neckline facing – 1 piece
    • Cuff – 2 pieces

Tip: Cut pieces from knitted fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When overlocking, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
