FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS: well-draping blouse fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: fusible interfacing.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, THEY INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: hem allowance – 2.0 cm, other seams - 1.0 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED.
- From main fabric:
- Front – 1 piece on fold
- Back – 1 piece on fold
- Back Yoke – 2 pieces
- Front Yoke – 2 pieces
- From fusible interfacing:
- Back Yoke – 1 piece
- Front Yoke – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Interface the pieces with fusible interfacing.
- Along the upper edge of the back, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the outer back yoke to the back. Press the seam allowance towards the yoke.
- Along the upper edge of the front between the marks, stitch with a loosened upper thread and gather. Attach the outer front yoke to the front. Press the seam allowance towards the yoke.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the blouse. Overlock the allowances and press them towards the back.
- Stitch the shoulder seams of the inner yokes. Press the allowances open. Overlock the outer edges of the inner yokes.
- Fold the yokes right sides together and face the neckline edge. Clip the allowances. Turn the inner yoke to the wrong side and press. Secure the inner yoke into the seam of the outer yoke attachment.
- Cut a bias binding 4 cm wide and a length equal to the armhole length + 4 cm. Fold the bias binding in half lengthwise right side out and press. Place the binding along the armhole edge on the right side, leaving tails, and stitch. Fold the binding to the wrong side, clip the seams, and topstitch along the fold onto the main piece. Press the seam.
- Stitch the side seams, press the allowances towards the back and overlock.
- Overlock the bottom edge of the garment, press to the wrong side and topstitch.
