Fabric & Materials
Fabric recommendations: thin, draping fabrics made from natural or blended fibers (crepe-chiffon, koshibo). Also needed: concealed zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE NOT INCLUDED. SEAM ALLOWANCES: all seams 1 cm, hem allowance – 2 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90cm to 150cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED (don't forget to account for paired and symmetrical pieces).
- From main fabric:
- Back - 4 pieces
- Front bodice – 2 pieces
- Front pant half – 2 pieces
- Back pant half – 2 pieces
The upper part of the jumpsuit is double-layered. The lining is cut from the main fabric.
Sewing Instructions
WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Mark and stitch darts on the back and front pant halves. Press darts towards the center.
- Stitch, overcast, and press side and inseam seams.
- Stitch the center back seam of the pants from the upper front edge to the back notch for the zipper. Overcast and press seam open.
- On the front bodice and back pieces, create and secure pleats along the marked lines. Press pleat depth towards the center of the piece.
- Stitch and overcast side and shoulder seams of the upper part. Notch the side seam near the mark. Press shoulder and side seams towards the back.
- Overcast the center back seams of the back.
- Attach the upper part of the jumpsuit to the lower part. Overcast and press seam downwards. Press the zipper allowance in the center seam.
- Place the zipper under the allowances so that the teeth are not visible and stitch.
- Stitch the lining pieces similarly to the main fabric pieces.
- Place the lining right sides together with the garment and stitch the neckline edge of the front bodice and back. Topstitch the allowance to the lining 0.2 cm from the seam. Stitch the armhole in two steps: first the upper armhole edge, then the lower armhole edge. Turn the lining to the wrong side and press. Overcast the lower edge of the lining. Stitch the center back seam allowances of the lining to the zipper tape. Stitch the lower edge to the allowance of the main fabric pieces.
- Press the hem allowance to the wrong side, fold inwards, and topstitch.
