Fabric recommendations: silk fabrics made from natural or blended fibers. Also needed: elastic tape 0.7 cm wide, zipper.
CUTTER'S MUST
IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS DO NOT INCLUDE SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: allowance at the upper edge of the back, at the armhole and neckline of the front – 1.5 cm; at the bottom of the garment – 2 cm; at the upper edge of the front and back pant halves, at the lower edge of the back and front – 2 cm. Other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!
- Back – 2 pieces
- Front – 1 piece
- Front pant half — 2 pieces
- Back pant half — 2 pieces
- Ties — 2 pieces (3.7 cm * 70 cm each) and 1 piece (3.7 cm * 90 cm)
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center back seam. Press seam allowances to the left side and overcast.
- Stitch the right side seam of the upper part, press seam allowances towards the back and overcast. Overcast separately the raw edges of the left side seam, the upper edges of the back and front, and the armhole allowances of the front. Insert the zipper into the left side seam.
- Press the allowance of the upper edge of the back and the armholes of the front to the wrong side. Topstitch the allowance of the upper edge of the back 1 cm from the edge, forming a casing. Thread elastic of the desired length into the casing, secure it at the zipper and side edge. Topstitch the armhole allowances of the front. Press the allowance of the upper edge of the front to the wrong side and topstitch 1 cm from the edge, forming a casing.
- Stitch the center and side seams of the front and back pant halves. Press seams towards the right half and overcast. Overcast and cut buttonholes for the pant hem casing.
- Fold the bodice and pants wrong sides together. Stitch 0.7 cm from the edge. Turn the pieces to the wrong side, press and stitch again 1.3 cm from the seam. Press the seam downwards. Topstitch the allowance to the pants.
- Stitch the inseams, press seam allowances towards the back half and overcast.
- Overcast the bottom edges of the pants, press to the wrong side and topstitch 1 cm from the edge, forming a casing.
- Carefully cut a buttonhole for threading elastic at the waist and overcast by hand. Thread elastic and secure.
- Cut the ties. Press the pieces in half lengthwise. Unfold the pieces and press the long raw edges towards the fold. Stitch the pieces. Thread the ties into the casings of the pant hems and the front neckline.
