Fabric recommendations: silk fabrics made of natural or blended fibers. YOU WILL ALSO NEED: elastic band 0.7 cm wide, fusible interfacing tape, 7 buttons.

IF THE PATTERNS HAVE A DOUBLE CONTOUR, SEAM ALLOWANCES ARE INCLUDED. IF THE CONTOUR IS SINGLE, THE PATTERNS ARE WITHOUT SEAM ALLOWANCES. SEAM ALLOWANCES: allowance for the upper edge of the front and back shorts halves, as well as for the lower edge of the back and front bodice — 2 cm; for the lower edge of the sleeve and ruffle – 2.0 cm. Other seams 1 cm. ATTENTION! FIRST OF ALL, PRINT OUT THE PAPER PATTERNS AND LAY THEM OUT ON THE FABRIC WIDTH (fabric width can be from 90 cm to 150 cm) TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH MATERIAL YOU WILL NEED. WHEN STITCHING PIECES, PAY ATTENTION TO THE NOTCHES - THEY MUST MATCH!

  • Ruffle — 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Finish the outer edges of the sleeves and ruffles with a narrow rolled hem (in this case, the allowance of the outer edge must be trimmed) or process with a "French seam" (also called "Moscow seam"). To do this, press the allowance to the wrong side by 1.5 cm, stitch 0.1-0.2 cm from the fold. Trim the allowance close to the stitching. Fold the allowance again and stitch along the previous line. Press the seam.
2. Stitch the shoulder and side seams on the outer and inner parts of the back and front bodice, press allowances open. Interface the neckline edges of the back and front bodice and the center front edge with fusible interfacing tape.
3. Cut a bias strip 2.5 cm wide and 40 cm long for the rouleau loops. Fold the strip lengthwise in half, right sides together, and stitch 0.3 cm from the fold. Trim allowances close to the stitching, turn the strip right side out and shape the rouleau. Cut loops. Secure the loops by stitching them to the right center front edge of the outer front bodice. The folds of the loops should face the center.
4. Set the sleeves into the armholes of the outer part of the jumpsuit, press allowances.
5. Stitch the center front edge on the outer and inner parts from the bottom edge to the tie, clip allowances, press open. Place the outer and inner front bodice pieces right sides together and stitch the ties, the center front edge, and the neckline edge. Clip allowances at curves, trim at corners. Turn the pieces right side out, shape, press. Stitch the armhole edges, clip allowances, press. Secure the pieces at the bottom edge. Along the bottom edge of the front bodice, make a basting stitch with a loosened thread and gather.
6. Stitch the center seams of the front and back shorts halves, press allowances open. Stitch the side seams of the shorts, press allowances open. Stitch the inseam, press allowances open. The inner shorts are processed similarly.
7. Attach the ruffles to the shorts, press allowances. Place the outer and inner shorts pieces right sides together and stitch the bottom edges. Clip allowances at curves, turn the pieces right side out, shape, press. Secure the pieces at the upper edge.
8. Place the bodice and shorts wrong sides together. Stitch 0.7 cm from the edge. Turn the pieces to the wrong side, press and stitch again 1.3 cm from the seam. Press the seam downwards. Topstitch the allowance to the shorts.
9. Carefully cut a buttonhole for inserting the elastic and hand overcast. Insert the elastic and secure.
10. Sew on the buttons.
