Open-Back Halter Dress with Draped Neck Tie

• From main fabric:
• 1. FRONT PANEL – 1 piece with fold
• 2. BACK PANEL – 2 pieces
• 3. TRIM STRIP – 4 pieces

Sewing Instructions

1. Stitch side SEAM ALLOWANCES. Overlock seams and press towards the BACK PANEL. Overlock the center back SEAM ALLOWANCE.
2. Overlock the upper edge of the dress. Fold the FRONT PANEL right sides together and stitch the armhole section from the NOTCH upwards. Slash the SEAM ALLOWANCE near the NOTCH, press the seam open. Fold TRIM STRIPS in pairs, right sides together, and stitch the outer contour, corners, and inner contour up to the NOTCH. Trim corners, turn the TRIM STRIP right side out and straighten. Slash the SEAM ALLOWANCE near the NOTCH. Attach the outer TRIM STRIPS to the dress. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the TRIM STRIP.
3. Fold back the inner TRIM STRIP. Insert the ZIPPER from the upper edge to the NOTCH. Fold back the lower part of the ZIPPER and stitch the center back SEAM ALLOWANCE from the NOTCH downwards. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Fold the inner TRIM STRIP inwards and topstitch into the attaching seam.
4. Fold the upper edge of the dress along the seam line and the center line of the FRONT PANEL and align the upper edge. Then, arbitrarily fold this section into an 'accordion' shape to a width of 4 – 6 cm. In this state, fold the upper edge SEAM ALLOWANCE inwards and secure with a stitch. Thread the TRIM STRIPS through the resulting opening.
5. Overlock the lower edge of the dress. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCE inwards and topstitch.
