Tech. Description

Structured Collar Sheath Dress

Introducing a sophisticated women's sheath dress pattern featuring a unique structured stand collar, a deep V-neckline, and an elegant decorative clasp gathering the front bodice under the bust, all tailored into a figure-flattering silhouette.

When To Wear

This refined sheath dress is perfect for occasions demanding polished style and confident elegance:

  • Professional & Business Environments: Ideal for boardroom meetings, presentations, or daily office wear.
  • Cocktail Parties & Semi-Formal Events: a chic choice for business dinners, networking events, or upscale gatherings.
  • Special Occasions & Gallery Openings: Suitable for events where a sophisticated and distinguished look is desired.

Key Design Features

Silhouette: a fitted sheath silhouette with a raised seam under the bust, shaped with vertical princess seams on the skirt front and the back for a sleek profile.

Neckline / Collar: Features a striking high stand collar cut in one with the upper front pieces, which frame a deep V-shaped front opening; at the back the collar is finished with shaped facings.

Closure: the dress closes with an invisible zipper at the center back; the front ends of the bodice are threaded through a 6 cm decorative clasp, which is purely decorative.

Sleeves: Sleeveless design with slightly extended shoulders; the armholes are cleanly finished with the lining.

Back: Shaped with back darts and princess seams; the center back seam holds an invisible zipper and ends in a vent at the hem for ease of movement.

Waist: The upper front is a separate wrapped bodice with pleats at the sides, laid over the lower front, which is finished at the top with a narrow waistband; the clasp draws the pleats together at the center.

Level Of Difficulty

Intermediate. This pattern requires experience with lining construction, invisible zipper insertion, panel piecing for shaping, and creating a tailored back vent.
