Sewing Instructions
- On the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL, create and press the darts. Dart depths are directed towards the armhole. Stitch darts from the apex for 3 cm. From the wrong side, along the inner edge of the dart, stitch 0.5 cm from the fold. Secure the darts at the neckline edge. Stitch the waist darts on the BACK PANEL. Press the depths towards the center.
- Stitch the side SEAM ALLOWANCES. Press the seams towards the BACK PANEL and serge. Attach the SLEEVE to the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL. Press the seams towards the SLEEVE.
- Serge the center back SEAM ALLOWANCE. Insert the ZIPPER from the top edge to the NOTCH. Fold back the lower part of the ZIPPER and stitch the center back SEAM ALLOWANCE from the NOTCH downwards. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES open.
- Process the LINING pieces similarly to the main fabric pieces.
- Place the main fabric pieces and LINING right sides together, aligning the neckline edges. Stop 5 mm before the edges of the concealed fastener, fold back the LINING and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin them to the neckline edge over the LINING. Stitch the neckline edge. Clip the seam at the curves, turn the pieces right side out and press. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the fastener to the wrong side. Attach the BACK PANEL LINING to the ZIPPER tape and to the seam joining the lower part. Press the pieces.
- Stitch the lower SLEEVE edge and the lower armhole edge with the LINING, clipping the SEAM ALLOWANCE at the level of the SLEEVE insertion seam. Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES at the curves, turn the dress right side out and press.
- Serge the lower edge SEAM ALLOWANCE of the dress, press it to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Serge the lower edge SEAM ALLOWANCE of the LINING, press it to the wrong side and topstitch.
- Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together. Stitch the waistband on three sides, leaving a small opening for turning. Turn the waistband right side out. Close the opening for turning with blind stitches, press the waistband.
