Extended Shoulder Notched Neckline Gathered Waist Dress

• 1. Center BACK PANEL – QTY 2
• 2. Middle BACK PANEL – QTY 2
• 3. Center FRONT PANEL – QTY 2
• 4. Middle FRONT PANEL – QTY 1
• 5. BACK SKIRT HALF – QTY 2
• 6. FRONT SKIRT HALF – QTY 1
• 7. BACK FACING – QTY 2
• 8. FRONT FACING – QTY 1
• FROM FUSIBLE INTERFACING: BACK FACING, FRONT FACING.

Sewing Instructions

1. Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to FACING pieces.
2. Stitch waist darts on skirt halves. Press dart depths towards the center of the piece.
3. Place FRONT FACINGS on center FRONT PANELS right sides together and stitch the center edge from the NOTCH upwards and the neckline of the FRONT PANEL, stopping 3-4 cm before the shoulder edges. Stitch the center edge of the center FRONT PANEL and the center edge of the FRONT FACING. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, trim at corners, turn FACING to the wrong side, baste, and press.
4. Along the bottom edges of the center BACK PANELS and FRONT PANELS, stitch with loosely tensioned stitches and gather.
5. Attach the center FRONT PANEL to the middle part, not catching the lower part of the FACING; press SEAM ALLOWANCES downwards and overcast. Attach the FRONT SKIRT HALF to the middle part; press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and overcast.
6. Attach the center BACK PANEL to the middle part; press SEAM ALLOWANCES downwards and overcast. Attach the BACK SKIRT HALF to the middle part; press SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards and overcast.
7. Overcast the center BACK PANEL edge and the vent sides. Insert the ZIPPER. Fold back the lower part of the ZIPPER and stitch the center BACK PANEL edge and the upper edge of the vent. The seam is made from the NOTCH below the ZIPPER downwards. NOTCH the seam at the beginning of the vent. Press the center edge open, press the vent onto the left BACK PANEL. Topstitch along the upper edge of the vent.
8. Stitch the shoulder edges of the dress; press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast. Stitch the shoulder edges of the FACINGS; press SEAM ALLOWANCES open. Overcast the outer edge of the FACING.
9. Place the FACING with the upper pieces right sides together and stitch the remaining unstitched neckline edge of the FRONT PANEL and the BACK PANEL neckline. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, turn the FACING to the wrong side and press. Fold the short edges of the BACK FACING inwards and attach to the ZIPPER tape. Topstitch the FACING to the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL along the outer edge.
10. Press the SLEEVE hem allowance to the wrong side, fold inwards, and topstitch.
11. Stitch the side edges. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BACK PANEL and overcast.
12. Overcast the hem of the garment, press to the wrong side, and topstitch.
