Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the lower BACK PANEL to the upper BACK PANEL. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES downwards and overcast.
  2. Stitch with loosely tensioned stitches along the lower edge of the upper FRONT PANEL between the NOTCHES at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge and gather. Stitch the lower FRONT PANEL to the upper FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES downwards and overcast.
  3. Overcast the front edge of the FRONT PANEL. Topstitch decorative TRIM STRIP onto the front edge.
  4. Stitch the upper FACING to the upper FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the FACING. Place the lower piece onto the right side of the upper FACING, right side in, and stitch the upper edge, continuing onto the tie, the short edge of the tie, and the lower edge of the tie, up to the NOTCH. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves, trim at corners. Turn the tie right side out, straighten, press. Fold under the raw lower edge of the inner upper FACING and topstitch into the FACING attachment seam.
  5. Overcast the upper and lower edges of the SLEEVE and the upper edge of the upper BACK PANEL with a rolled hem.
  6. Stitch the SLEEVE to the BACK PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES and overcast. Stitch the SLEEVE to the FRONT PANEL, press SEAM ALLOWANCES and overcast. Stitch the SLEEVE edges and SIDE PANEL edges in one seam. Press SEAM ALLOWANCES and overcast.
  7. Mark the lower FACING attachment line on the garment. Stitch the side edges of the BACK PANEL FACING and the middle FRONT PANEL FACING. Place the FACING onto the FRONT PANEL right side to right side so that the attachment line of the lower edge of the FACING aligns with the marked line on the garment. The upper edge of the FACING should be directed towards the lower edge of the garment. Stitch the FACING, then fold it upwards. Overcast one short side of the inner part of the middle FRONT PANEL FACING. Place the inner piece onto the right side of the middle FRONT PANEL FACING, right side in, and stitch the tie along three sides. Trim SEAM ALLOWANCES at corners. Turn the tie right side out, straighten, press. Fold under the raw upper edge of the FACING and topstitch under the seam joining the upper and lower parts of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL.
  8. Topstitch elastic TRIM STRIP onto the upper edge of the BACK PANEL and SLEEVE and the lower edge of the SLEEVE, stretching it slightly. The TRIM STRIP should be 10% shorter than the edge it is being stitched to.
  9. Overcast the lower edge of the garment with a fine rolled hem.
