Fabric & Materials

Pattern pieces made from knit fabrics should be sewn with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging with an overlock machine, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. Hem allowances should be topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Cutting Plan

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Right Back – 1 piece
  • 2. Left Back – 1 piece
  • 3. Right Front – 1 piece
  • 4. Left Front – 1 piece
  • 5. Right Sleeve – 1 piece
  • 6. Left Sleeve – 1 piece

Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the front pieces together. Stitch the back pieces together. Finish seams and press.
  2. Stitch the shoulder sections along the shoulder edge: right front piece to left back piece, and right back piece to left front piece. Stitch the right shoulder seam. Finish seams and press towards the back.
  3. Bind the edges of the shoulder sections and the neckline with bias tape. Begin binding from the left armhole.
  4. Stitch the side seams of the back and front. Finish seams and press towards the back.
  5. Finish the upper edge of the left sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
  6. Stitch the sleeve seams. Finish seams and press.
  7. Set sleeves into armholes, matching notches. Finish seams and press.
  8. Finish the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeve. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
