A women's knit wrap tank top with two overlapping fronts that tie at the side, bust darts, and one continuous binding that finishes the neckline and forms the straps. The binding ends meet at the centre front through a narrow decorative fastener, leaving a keyhole below it.
Silhouette: Fitted, hip length.
Neckline: Bound with knit tape that continues over the shoulders as narrow straps; the strap length is adjusted at fitting. At the front the binding ends are threaded through the fastener and secured on the wrong side.
Front: Two wrap fronts with bust darts. The wrap edge and the armholes are bound with tape that extends into ties 80–90 cm long. One tie passes through an opening left in the right side seam, topstitched around its edge, and the ties are knotted at the side.
Back: One piece with a straight upper edge; the straps are formed by the same binding.
Finishing: Bound edges have no seam allowance. The hem and the vertical front edge are turned to the wrong side and topstitched, with a twin needle to keep the stretch.
Intermediate. Long continuous binding that becomes ties and straps, a finished tie opening in the side seam, and fitting the strap length.
Knit fabric with medium to high stretch, from natural or blended fibres.
Tip: Pattern pieces made from knit fabrics should be stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.
