Fabric & Materials

Tip: Cut pieces from knit fabrics are stitched with a special elastic or narrow zigzag stitch. When serging, trim seam allowances to 0.6 – 0.8 cm. The hem allowance is topstitched with a twin needle to maintain elasticity.

Cutting Plan

  • 1. Back – 1 piece
  • 2. Front – 1 piece
  • 3. Sleeve – 2 pieces
  • 4. Collar – 1 piece

ATTENTION! Before starting work, check that the head fits through the collar sewn into a ring.

Sewing Instructions

  1. 1. Serge the neckline edge of the front piece, fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch. Leave the neckline edge of the back piece unfinished.
  2. 2. Stitch the shoulder and side seams of the back and front pieces. Serge the seams and press towards the back.
  3. 3. Stitch the sleeve seams. Serge the seams and press.
  4. 4. Set the sleeves into the armholes, matching notches. Serge the seams and press.
  5. 5. Serge the bottom edge of the garment and the bottom edge of the sleeves. Fold to the wrong side, press and topstitch.
  6. 6. Stitch the collar into a ring. Turn the collar right side out and press. Attach the outer side of the collar to the back neckline, matching notches. The collar seam is located at the left shoulder seam. Fold the collar allowances inwards and stitch them together.
