Tip: Main fabric can be used as LINING.
Sewing Instructions
- Stitch the center back seam, princess seams on the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL on the main fabric pieces. Serge and press towards the center.
- Divide the corset tape into 6 equal parts. Stitch the tape segments from the upper edge of the dress to the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the princess seams and center back seam.
- Stitch the center back seam, princess seams on the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL, and the right side seam on the LINING pieces. Serge and press the seams.
- Create pleats on the draping piece. Along the center front line and along the side edges, sew a machine stitch with a large stitch length. Baste the draping piece to the upper front edge and to the side seams.
- Stitch the right side seam, serge and press towards the BACK PANEL. Stitch the corset tape to the right side seam.
- Stitch the side seam on all skirts from the ZIPPER NOTCHES downwards. Place the skirts inside each other. Secure the skirts together at the upper edge, aligning the seams.
- Place the BODICE and skirts right sides together and stitch. Serge the seam and press upwards.
- Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE for the closure to the wrong side. Insert the ZIPPER. Press the seam.
- Place the dress and LINING right sides together. Fold back the LINING 5 mm from the edges of the invisible closure and pin to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin to the upper edge over the LINING. Stitch the upper edges. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the closure to the wrong side. Fold the LINING upwards and topstitch onto the seam allowance 1-2 mm from the seam. Fold the LINING to the wrong side and attach it to the ZIPPER tape. Topstitch the bottom of the LINING into the seam joining the BODICE and skirt.
- Serge the bottom edges of the skirts and topstitch to the wrong side by 0.5 cm.
- Finish the decorative necklace with LINING, make buttonholes, and sew on buttons.
