Sewing Instructions

  1. Mark and stitch the waist darts on the Front and Back. Press the darts on the Front towards the center front, and on the Back towards the center back.
  2. Mark and stitch the bust dart on the Front. Cut it open to its depth and overlock. At the wrap edge of the Front, lay the bust dart as a soft pleat. The dart ends can be secured with a line of stitching 0.5 cm from the side edge.
  3. Overlock the center back edges. Stitch the center back seam up to the zipper notch. Press the center back seam open, pressing back the zipper opening allowances, and insert the zipper.
  4. Stitch the shoulder seams of the dress, overlock, and press towards the back.
  5. Press the bias binding in half lengthwise and bind the neckline and armholes. Fold under the ends of the binding at the back and secure by hand.
  6. Stitch the side seams of the dress, matching the notches and forming the wrap. Overlock the side seams and press them towards the back.
  7. Stitch each flounce and the Skirt Lining into a ring. Overlock the seams and press.
  8. Baste the Third, Fourth and Fifth Skirt Flounces together along their upper edges. Sew a line of loose gathering stitches and gather.
  9. Stitch the Third, Fourth and Fifth Skirt Flounces to the Skirt Lining. Overlock the seam and press upwards.
  10. Baste the First and Second Skirt Flounces and the Skirt Lining together along the upper edge.
