CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- BACK PANEL – 2 QTY
- Upper FRONT PANEL – 4 QTY
- Lower FRONT PANEL – 1 QTY
- BACK PANEL FACING – 2 QTY
- FRONT PANEL FACING – 1 QTY
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING:
- BACK PANEL FACING – 1 QTY
- FRONT PANEL FACING – 1 QTY
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse FUSIBLE INTERFACING to the BACK PANEL FACING and FRONT PANEL FACING.
- Mark and stitch the waist darts on the FRONT PANEL and BACK PANEL. Press the darts on the FRONT PANEL towards the center of the FRONT PANEL, and on the BACK PANEL towards the center of the BACK PANEL.
- Place the upper FRONT PANEL pieces right sides together and stitch along the center seam. Stitch the pieces along the upper and lower edges, stopping 1 cm before the center seam. Stitch the lower edge from the NOTCH towards the center seam. At the NOTCH near the lower edge, clip the seam up to the stitching line. Turn the pieces right side out and press. Topstitch along the center seam 1 cm from the edge.
- Attach the upper FRONT PANEL to the lower FRONT PANEL from the side seam to the NOTCH. Finish the upper edge of the lower FRONT PANEL with the FACING. Turn the seam right side out and press. Overlock the lower edge of the FACING.
- Overlock the center back seam of the BACK PANEL. Stitch the center back seam of the BACK PANEL up to the NOTCH for the ZIPPER. Press open the center back seam of the BACK PANEL, pressing the ZIPPER opening. Insert the ZIPPER.
- Overlock the lower edge of the BACK PANEL FACING.
- Place the BACK PANEL and FACING right sides together. Fold back the LINING 5 mm from the edges of the concealed fastener and pin it to the upper edge of the dress. On the right side of the dress, fold back the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER and pin them to the upper edge over the LINING. Stitch the upper edges. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the fastener to the wrong side. Fold the LINING up and topstitch it to the seam allowance 1-2 mm from the seam. Fold the LINING to the wrong side and attach it to the ZIPPER tape. Press the pieces.
- Turn the BACK PANEL to the wrong side. Insert the FRONT PANEL between the BACK PANEL and the FACING and stitch the side seams. Overlock the side seams of the dress. Turn the dress right side out, press the seams towards the BACK PANEL.
- Overlock the lower edge of the dress, fold up and topstitch 1.5 cm from the lower edge.
- Cut the TRIM STRIP. Fold the TRIM STRIP lengthwise with right sides together and stitch 0.5 cm from the fold. Turn the TRIM STRIP right side out and press. Thread the TRIM STRIP through the openings in the upper FRONT PANEL and tie as shown in the illustration.
