- Back Facing – 2 pieces
- Front Facing – 2 pieces
- Strap – 1 piece
Sewing Instructions
- Fuse fusible interfacing to 1 Strap piece and to 2 pieces each of the Back Facing and Front Facing.
- Stitch the two Strap pieces together along the outer and inner edges, clip the seam allowances, turn the Strap right side out, and press.
- Stitch the Back Facing and Front Facing together at the side seams. Press the seams open. Place the facings right sides together, inserting the Strap between them so that the interfaced side of the Strap lies against the interfaced side of the facing. Stitch the facings on two sides: along the short edge of the Front Facing and then along the upper edge of the facings. Turn right side out and press.
- Stitch the princess seams on the front and back. Serge and press towards the center.
- Serge the center front edges. Stitch the center front seam between the notches. Press the seam open, pressing the slit allowances to the wrong side.
- Stitch the side seams. Serge the seams and press towards the back.
- Stitch the outer side of the facing to the upper edge of the dress. Press the seam towards the facing. Stitch the center back seam up to the zipper notch. Press the seam open, pressing the slit allowances. Insert the invisible zipper into the center back seam.
- Fold under the open edge of the facing and stitch it to the seam allowances of the dress along the zipper. Press the seam.
- Serge the lower edge of the dress, fold it up, and topstitch 1.5 cm from the lower edge.
