Sewing Instructions
- Mark and stitch the bust darts on the front (from main fabric and chiffon). Press the bust darts downwards. Mark and stitch the waist darts on the front and back (from main fabric and chiffon). Press the back darts towards the center back, and the front darts towards the center front.
- Stitch, overlock, and press the center front seam (from main fabric and chiffon).
- Stitch and overlock the side and shoulder seams of the dress. Press the side seams towards the back (from main fabric and chiffon).
- Layer the two dress layers and finish the neckline of the front and back. Topstitch the finishing seam allowance to the lower dress layer at 0.2 cm from the finishing seam.
- Overlock the center back edge (from main fabric and chiffon). Stitch the center seam up to the notch for the zipper. Press open the center back seam, pressing the zipper opening allowances. Insert the zipper into the upper dress layer. Fold under the center back edge of the lower dress and stitch it to the seam allowances of the upper dress in the zipper area.
- Overlock the lower edge of the sleeves (sleeve 1, sleeve 2, and sleeve 3) with a rolled hem. Stitch and overlock the sleeve seams (sleeve 1, sleeve 2, and sleeve 3). Press the sleeve seams. Layer the sleeves one inside the other and secure them along the armhole curve at 0.5 cm from the edge.
- Set the sleeves into the armholes according to the notches.
- Press the bias tape in half lengthwise and finish the neckline edge of the front from notch to notch, leaving straps from the bias tape. Try on the dress, adjust the length of the straps, and sew the back ends to the back.
- Overlock the lower edge of the dress (from main fabric and chiffon), fold under, and topstitch at 1.5 cm from the lower edge.
