Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
    1. Front – qty 2
    2. Back – qty 2
    3. Flap – qty 4
    4. Belt loop – qty 1
  • From fusible interfacing: flap.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse the flap with fusible interfacing.
  2. Fold the flap pieces right sides together and stitch around. Trim seam allowances at corners and turn out. Topstitch along the outer contour of the flaps at a distance of 0.5 cm from the edge. Overlock the upper edge of the flap. Mark the flap placement. Place the flap onto the marking and topstitch it. Turn the flap to the right side and topstitch at a distance of 0.5 cm from the seam.
  3. Overlock: side and inseam edges of the front and back, center front edge, fly edge, and center back edge.
  4. Fold the belt loop lengthwise in half, right sides together, align the edges and stitch at a distance of 0.5-0.7 cm from the edges. Then turn out, straighten the seam, positioning it on the fold or forming a 0.1–0.2 cm wide edge on the inside, and press.
  5. Stitch the side and inseams. Press open the side and inseams. Stitch the fly edge and the center seat seam.
  6. Overlock the upper edge of the shorts. Press the upper edge of the shorts to the wrong side. Topstitch the allowance onto the shorts. Mark the belt loop placement. Cut the belt loops to size and topstitch the belt loops onto the shorts according to the markings.
  7. Overlock the hem allowance and press to the wrong side. Topstitch the hem allowances onto the shorts. Thread a decorative cord through the belt loops.
