CUTTER'S MUST

  • From main fabric:
  • 1. Upper FRONT PANEL - QTY 4
  • 2. Lower FRONT PANEL - QTY 1 on fold
  • 3. BACK PANEL - QTY 2 on fold
  • 4. BACK SKIRT HALF - QTY 1 on fold
  • 5. FRONT SKIRT HALF - QTY 1 on fold
  • From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: Fuse 2 cm wide fusible strips to the upper edge of the BACK PANEL, armhole edges, and neckline.

Sewing Instructions

  1. Reinforce the upper edge of the BACK PANEL, armhole edges, and neckline with 2 cm wide fusible strips.
  2. Place the inner and outer upper FRONT PANEL pieces right sides together. Stitch the neckline and armhole edges. Clip SEAM ALLOWANCES at curves.
  3. Turn the upper FRONT PANEL right side out. Baste the neckline and armhole edges. Gather the lower edges of the upper FRONT PANEL between the marks.
  4. Stitch the lower edge of the upper FRONT PANEL to the upper edge of the lower FRONT PANEL, right sides together.
  5. Stitch the inner and outer BACK PANEL pieces along the upper edge. Fold the inner BACK PANEL and topstitch it to the SEAM ALLOWANCE 1-2 mm from the seam line. Baste the lower edges of the BACK PANELS.
  6. Place the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL right sides together and stitch the right side seam.
  7. Stitch the darts on the skirt halves. Press darts towards the center lines. Stitch the skirt halves along the side seams, leaving unstitched sections for the ZIPPER and for the slit.
  8. Attach the upper part of the dress to the upper edge of the skirt, right sides together. Overlock SEAM ALLOWANCES and press upwards.
  9. Fold the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the ZIPPER slit to the wrong side. Attach the ZIPPER to the SEAM ALLOWANCES.
  10. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE of the lower slit to the wrong side and topstitch 0.75 cm from the edge.
  11. Fold the hem SEAM ALLOWANCES to the wrong side, turn under, and topstitch.
