Sewing Instructions
- Stitch darts on the pieces. On the upper front panels, press dart depths upwards; on the others, press towards the center lines.
- Press the self-faced FACING of the flounce panel to the wrong side, baste at the top. Place the flounce panel right side down onto the wrong side of the lower front panel and stitch the upper edges between the darts. Clip the SEAM ALLOWANCES near the darts perpendicular to the seam. Fold the flounce panel to the right side so that its wrong side lies on the right side of the lower front panel. Baste the upper and side edges.
- Fold the upper front panels together and stitch the armhole edges and the lower edges between the transverse NOTCHES. Trim the SEAM ALLOWANCES, clip near the NOTCHES perpendicular to the seam. Turn the upper front panel right side out, press.
- Attach the lower edge of the outer upper front panel to the upper edges of the lower front panel and the flounce panel from the transverse NOTCHES. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES upwards, fold the lower edge of the inner upper front panel and topstitch into the attaching seam.
- Stitch the center seam between the NOTCHES. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the lower slit to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches.
- Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES along the armhole edges to the wrong side and hand-sew with blind stitches. Stitch the side seams. Secure the SEAM ALLOWANCES near the armholes.
- Press the TRIM STRIP for the neckline binding in half lengthwise, right side out. Fold it with the neckline, aligning the NOTCHES, and attach.
- Press the SEAM ALLOWANCE for the closure to the wrong side. Place the ZIPPER underneath the edges and stitch, folding back the upper ends of the tape.
- Press the hem allowance to the wrong side and hem with blind stitches. Also hem the inner edge of the self-faced FACING of the flounce panel.
