Sewing Instructions
- On the BODICE of the dress, made from main and LINING fabrics, stitch the darts and complete the shoulder seams.
- Neckline and armholes. Place the LINING and the BODICE of the dress right sides together, pin, and stitch to the neckline and armhole edges. Turn the BODICE right side out by pulling the BACK PANEL halves through the shoulder tunnel to the front. Without breaking the stitching, complete the side seams on the dress and the LINING. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES of the neckline and armholes under the LINING and topstitch the LINING to the SEAM ALLOWANCES close to the seam.
- On the skirt halves made from main, LINING, and chiffon fabrics, stitch the darts. Place the chiffon skirt on top of the main fabric skirt, wrong side to right side, baste along the edges, and then treat as a single layer. Stitch the center back seam from the mark downwards and the side seams.
- Stitch the main fabric BODICE to the main fabric skirt, and the LINING BODICE to the LINING skirt. At the same time, clip the SEAM ALLOWANCE along the lower edge of the FRONT PANEL (on the BODICE and LINING BODICE) along the center front line. Press the SEAM ALLOWANCES towards the BODICE/LINING.
- Stitch the ZIPPER under the edges of the dress opening so that the teeth are not visible, without catching the LINING. Fold the LINING under and sew it to the ZIPPER tapes.
- Finish the hem of the dress and the LINING with a turned-under seam so that the LINING is approx. 2 cm shorter than the dress.
