CUTTER'S MUST
- From main fabric:
- 1. FRONT PANEL - 2 QTY
- 2. BACK PANEL - 2 QTY
- 3. Waistband - 1 QTY
- 4. Fly Shield – 1 QTY
- 5. Belt Loop - 1 QTY
- From FUSIBLE INTERFACING: waistband, fly shield.
Sewing Instructions
- Reinforce the waistband and fly shield with FUSIBLE INTERFACING (Heat-activated interfacings are pressed onto the wrong side of the fabric with a hot iron).
- Stitch the darts, press the dart allowances towards the center.
- Sew the side and inseam seams. Overlock and press open the SEAM ALLOWANCES.
- Stitch the front center seam from the fastener mark downwards and, without breaking the stitch, sew the back center seam.
- ZIPPER closure. Press the integrated FACINGS of the closure to the wrong side: on the right - along the front center line, on the left - 1 cm from the front center line (= allowance for the closure).
- Press the fly shield in half lengthwise, right side out, and overlock the edges.
- Stitch the ZIPPER under the edge of the closure allowance (left side) to the edge, positioning the teeth close to the fold and placing the fly shield with its fold towards the center so that the overlocked edge covers the ZIPPER tape.
- Pin the opening, aligning the front center lines. Stitch the free ZIPPER tape to the FACING of the right side of the closure, without catching the fabric of the front pant leg.
- Topstitch the right front pant leg along the closure according to the markings, catching the FACING and folding back the fly shield. Finish the stitching 1.5 – 2 cm before the center seam. Then, fold the fly shield back into place and continue stitching to the seam.
- On the belt loop strip, press the allowances along the longitudinal edges to the wrong side, fold the strip in half lengthwise, press, stitch the longitudinal edges, topstitch the strip along the fold. Cut the strip into 5 equal parts.
- Baste the belt loops to the upper edge of the pants: at the front - at the darts, at the back - at the darts and above the center seam.
- Fold the waistband in half lengthwise, right sides together, stitch the ends, turn right side out and press.
- Place the waistband with the upper edge of the garment right sides together so that the shaped end is on the right side and stitch. Straighten the waistband, fold the open edge inwards and topstitch into the waistband attachment seam.
- Turn the belt loops upwards, fold under and topstitch at the upper edge of the waistband.
- Press the hem allowance of the pant legs inwards, fold under the raw edges and hand stitch.
- On the right end of the waistband, overlock a buttonhole, on the left - sew on a button.
