Sewing Instructions

  1. Stitch the center back seam, darts, and princess seams of the BACK PANEL and FRONT PANEL, leaving the pocket openings unstitched.
  2. Stitch the welt piece along the short sides, turn right side out, and press the folds.
  3. Topstitch along the edges of the welt at a distance of 1.0 cm.
  4. Align the raw edges of the welt with the princess seam edge of the center FRONT PANEL, placing the welt on the right side of the center FRONT PANEL and aligning the upper edge of the welt with the NOTCHES; place the upper part of the pocket bag on top of the welt, baste all layers.
  5. Place the lower part of the pocket bag on the right side of the side FRONT PANEL.
  6. Stitch the welt and pocket bags.
  7. Stitch the princess seams of the FRONT PANELs.
  8. Turn the pocket bags inwards, align, and stitch.
  9. Topstitch the short sides of the welts to the FRONT PANEL along the topstitching seam.
  10. Stitch the side seams of the jacket.
  11. Stitch the shoulder seams.
  12. Stitch the COLLAR along the ends and outer edge, turn right side out, and press.
  13. Fold the COLLAR to the neckline, right sides together, according to the markings, and baste.
  14. Stitch the SLEEVE seams, press open.
  15. Set the SLEEVEs into the jacket armholes according to the markings.
  16. Press the SLEEVE hem allowance inwards.
  17. Attach the shoulder pads.
  18. Stitch the LINING pieces similarly to the main garment, leaving an unstitched section of about 20 cm on the elbow seam of one of the SLEEVEs.
  19. Stitch the FACINGs to the LINING.
  20. Place the LINING and the main garment right sides together, aligning along the center back line and shoulder seams.
  21. Stitch the main garment to the LINING along the front edges and neckline.
  22. Create a ease fold at the bottom and stitch the LINING to the hem allowance edge.
  23. Turn the garment right side out through the unstitched SLEEVE section, then stitch this section closed.
  24. Neatly hand stitch the bottom of the LINING SLEEVE to the hem.
  25. Make buttonholes on the right FRONT PANEL according to the markings and sew on the buttons.
