Cutter's Must

  • From main fabric:
  • Front (cut in one with the facing) – 2 pieces

  • Bias strips for binding the armholes – 2 pieces

From fusible interfacing:

  • Back Neckline Facing – 1 piece on the fold
  • Center Front Facing – 2 pieces

Sewing Instructions

  1. Fuse fusible interfacing to the Back Neckline Facing and the front facings.
  2. Stitch the darts; press the vertical darts towards the center of the front/back and the bust darts upwards.
  3. Place the side edges of the Back Neckline Facing and the short edges of the front facings right sides together and stitch. Press the seam allowances open. Baste the joined facing along its upper edge to the neckline and stitch. Turn the facing to the wrong side, press and topstitch close to the edge from the right side of the blouse.
  4. Stitch the side and shoulder seams. Press the seam allowances open.
  5. Bind the armholes: trim the armhole seam allowances. Fold the bias strip in half lengthwise and press. Pin the folded strip to the armhole edge and stitch 0.75 cm from the edge. Press the binding upwards and turn under its ends. Wrap the binding around the seam allowances to the wrong side, baste just above the seam and stitch in the ditch of the seam from the right side of the blouse.
  6. Press the hem allowance of the blouse to the wrong side, turn under and topstitch 0.75 cm from the edge.
  7. Make buttonholes on the right front and sew the buttons on the left front.
