A women's mini skirt, slightly flared, with a separate front fly piece laid over the front skirt: it is caught into one side seam, buttons at the waist and is topstitched with a twin needle along its free edges. Centre back zip and a faced waist with no waistband. Drafted to your own measurements. Recommended fabric: medium-weight fabrics that hold a crisp edge and take twin-needle topstitching well: wool suiting, gabardine, cotton twill, denim, linen.

Silhouette: Slightly flared from the hips, shaped with waist darts at the front and back.
Length: Mini, above the knee.
Front: One front skirt cut on the fold, covered by a front fly piece. The fly piece is basted to the front skirt along the right side edges and sewn into the side seam; its left and lower edges are pressed under, the lower corner is mitred, and the edges are topstitched with a twin needle. Its upper edge is held by a single row of stitching and is not caught into the facing seam.
Closure: Zip in the centre back seam; one button and buttonhole hold the fly piece at the waist.
Back: Two back pieces with a centre back seam and darts.
Waist: No waistband. The waist is finished with an interfaced facing, a front facing cut on the fold and two back facings; the seam is understitched and the facing is tacked to the darts and seam allowances, with its ends sewn to the zip tapes.
